Aja Hall

Aja joined the BHA in April 2022 as Head of Regulation and then took up the role of Co-Director of Integrity, Regulation and Safeguarding in August 2024. Aja has responsibility for all regulatory and compliance work flowing from integrity investigations and raceday appeals. She appears before the Judicial Panels for raceday appeals and breaches of the Rules of Racing. Aja is responsible for the drafting of any Rule amendments which then progress through the various committees and is a member of the Tactical Advisory Committee within the IFHA. In her role as Director she is responsible for ensuring all departments have the appropriate Rules drafted to uphold the Integrity of Racing, and supporting all departments with the Regulation of the sport.

A Barrister of 16 years’ call, Aja started life at the Criminal Bar before moving to healthcare regulation at the Nursing and Midwifery Council. During her time at the NMC she defended the decisions of panels appearing in the High Court and before NMC panels in high-profile matters.
