Philip Newton has been an owner breeder in GB for over forty years breeding and racing Group winners, Breeders’ Cup and Melbourne Cup runners. His commercial career was in the British PLC sector as CEO of an International Retail chain in which he also played a formative role, he has also worked in the Charity sector and held a number of non executive positions.
Philip has been a Trustee of the British Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association for over 12 years during which time he played a key role in developing what are now the four year cycle of Economic Impact Study's and the Great British Bonus and intervention and incentive scheme to encourage breeding, buying and British bred fillies and mares. Philip was Deputy Chair for four years taking the Chair of the TBA in 2023.
